Lambing Weekends at Rushall Farm
There are two lambing weekends this year at Rushall Farm, Bradfield, on 17th-18th March and 24th-25th March. Part of the proceeds will be going to the John Simonds Trust.
Enjoy a wonderful day out at this organic farm in the beautiful Pang Valley. Visit the lambing shed to see lambs being born. Bottle feed newly born lambs. Look out for calves and piglets too!!!
Other attractions include a tractor and trailer ride around the farm and surrounding woodland, and you can stop off at the magnificent thatched barn for a mouth-watering array of refreshments, including soup, hot dogs, drinks and homemade cakes.
How to get there
From Junction 12 of the M4 take the A4 towards Newbury. Proceed straight on at the first roundabout. At the second roundabout turn right onto the A340 (sign posted to Pangbourne). After about 200 yards turn left. Once on this road lookout for the yellow signs which will lead you all the way to the farm.

Questions you may have
Can I bring a dog? Dogs are not permitted in the lambing shed. Dogs on leads are permitted elseshere on the farm but please be aware that there are sheep dogs around and they are very protective of the sheep.
Are there hand washing facilities? Handwashing facilities (hot water and antibacterial soap) are available in the lambing shed and also in the toilets opposite the barn. Please make sure you wash your hands after handing any animals.
Why shouldn't pregnant women attend this event? The department of Health recommends that pregnant women should not come into close contact with pregnant ewes and/or newborn lambs. The ewes can carry infections which can cause miscarriage in humans. Although this is a rare occurrence it is best to avoid the risk. For more information visit: The Health Protection Agency
Is this event suitable for wheelchair users? The lambing shed is suitable for wheelchairs, although it does get very crowded. Parking for blue badge holders is close by. Disabled toilets are available. The barn is wheelchair friendly however the area in front is gravel which can be a problem.
What sort of clothing should we wear? This is a working farm and is likely to be muddy. Please wear old clothing and wellies or other suitable footwear. Wear plenty of warm layers as it can be quite chilly.
