MSquared

msquared-rwd@yahoo.co.uk

MSquared is a social group for the recently diagnosed with their partners, family members and friends.

A group attending a 'Getting to Grips with MS' sessions wanted to keep in touch socially and this resulted in MSquared being set up.Since the first meeting in 2006, MSquared has been joined by people on subsequent Getting to Grips courses as well as through direct contact with the MS Society.

Encouraged and supported by the local branch of the MS Society, we meet for an informal drink and chat every other month. In between, we arrange other events such as meals out, quiz evenings and a Christmas party.

We check that venues have suitable access and will try to help with transport if needed.

If you would like more information and would like to join us, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Partners, family members and friends are also most welcome.

MSquared looks forward to meeting you – you can get in touch by emailing msquared-rwd@yahoo.co.uk, through Facebook or by phone, details below.

Hydrotherapy

Every Wednesday 5-6 p.m. & 6-7 p.m.

What is it?

Hydrotherapy is physiotherapy in a warm water pool. A physiotherapist works with you as you gently exercise in the pool.

What are the benefits?

Hydrotherapy makes physiotherapy much easier because the warm water relaxes taut muscles enabling you to do exercises that you could not do out of water. The water also bears your weight making your body feel lighter.

When and where is it?

The Branch runs courses lasting for six weeks in the hydro pool at The Royal Berkshire Hospital on Wednesday evenings. The sessions are proving so popular that we now run two sessions of one hour’s duration at 5 and 6pm.
